flew out on a delayed flight from manchester to heathrow (Lorraine from Glossop)
ran across heathrow to just make connection to singapore
in singapore problem with guy with same name and boarding cards
just made connection to Perth, met german cyclist on plane
Australia at last, bike in singapore
Slept at airport, helped Christophe build his bike
went by bus to Orelia and found Val's house
had a good night with Val and daughter Bessie
Saturday 30th
Bike has arrived at airport, being delivered soon
3 pm bike and all stuff arrived,, bike assembled and tested
found reason to wear helmet, australian magpies, it's springtime and they defend their nests by dive bombing me , 3 hits on helmet in 50 yards
Went to Freemantle for food and saw a guitarist session, Simon Perroni and friends
Guitar, Sitar,diggeridoo, and bongos, playing Blues, fantastic,
sunday off to Wave rock,fantastic place, and a rock festival, managed to get in free , have loads of beer and slept in a kids playground on a climbing frame platform.

back to Orelia, finish preparing the bike,
jet lag nearly gone.
Wednesday
left orelia, the magpies gave me one last hit, out to kwinana Beach and follow the coast down, but end up back on the highway, huge trucks etc. sleep in a picnic place, lots of grey nomads there in their campers etc.

Thursday
Back on the highway, turned off onto Scenic route down estuary for Australind.
Bunbury, Black Swans and Kangaroos. a couple of beers at the pub and a nice sunset over the Indian Ocean, and now at Amanda's house. with her pet snake.

having a good rest and will leave early sunday morning.
amanda has gone off to set up the music festival and I have her place to myself.
Sunday 7th Oct
down the SW hwy saw LLamas, highland cattle, Kookaburras, had a cake in a french cafe and chatted to the parissiene lady owner.
Made it to Bridgetown in the cold, rain and dark asked a guy if there was a campsite, but they took me in.3 guys from the Phillipines working for the power company Edwin, Ricardo. Renato.
slept on the floor inside on a matress .breakfast was the same rice fried etc.
Monday Pemburton climbed the Diamond Tree and stayed at a backpackers, slept on kitchen floor. breakfast was a great bee sting cake.
Tues
left Pemberton up big hill , heard noise behind. couple on a tandem with a trailer. Paul and Carol from Perth, heading for Albany too.

cycled to shannon campsite stayed in Plantation hut. Hosts Reluctant to give us water in the morning.
Wed 10th oct
cycled to Walpole, grey nomads wouldn't share water. loads of flowers ,and saw southern ocean.
got a room in Backpackers by myself, motel wanted $22 for bangers and mash, got hamburger and chips take away.

Walpole to Denmark. Saw emu, stopped in toffee shop for coffee. then to Paul's mate's campsite, executive chalet BRBQ nd Rum and OJ. LUXURY On the way stopped at Green's Pool to paddle amazing beach huge waves breaking over rocks and calm lagoon.
Friday Denmark to Albany
had good breakfast with Nick and Lisa, easy riding, pretty flat, stopped for pies and ice cream, tried to chat with old guy on bike with panniers. Amity, a replica sailing tallship in Albany
In Albany time to say bye to P&C. found CS hosts house at the top of town, huge uphill.
After shopping met hosts, they went out to son's 18th birthday
Hosts Danny and Paula are great people, met Dave their friend too,
and amazing cartoonist. the views from their house of the region and the suunsets were brilliant.

Met 3 ladies from sydney at the farmer's Market and had a good laugh.
Visited some great beaches and the natural bridge and the Gap.
Had a couple of days rest and set off for Esperance, 1st night stayed round the back of a primary school in Wellstead, On the way I saw a woman trying to kill a snake with a length of plastic pipe..bush camped and had a good breakfast at a road house Boxwood Hill. Next night found a village that was no more , Fitzgerald
It started to rain so I sat on the porch of a "deserted house", but 2 ladies came who worked for the forsets and let me stay inside for the night and have a shower. Luxury. Next night Munglinup, pinic site camped met some nice folk.
In Esperance I met a gold prospector who liven in an industrial unit with loads of old cars and black boy roots, he could talk!!!!! about ley lines, magnetism ,steam engines for bikes ,and his lease with the assay report.
North to Norseman. through Grass Patch to Salmon Gums, met japanese cyclist Ryo . free food in the motel and they had a baby roo called Emma. On the way to Norseman met some grey nomads who gave met coffee and biscuits and wanted to give me a hair cut.
